Walter named ACC All-College Instructor of the Year

Susan Walter

Susan Walter has been selected as Arapahoe Community College’s 2017-18 All-College Instructor of the Year.

Walter, who teaches Mathematics, has been at ACC for four years.  Her teaching experience spans 15 years, including positions at CU Denver (2017), Chaparral High School (2000-05), Columbia High School (East Greenbush, NY; 1999-00), Goff Middle School (East Greenbush, NY; 1995-99) and Danville School (Danville, VT; 1994-95).

Susan’s enthusiasm and commitment to teaching infuse a positive energy in her classes.  She encourages her students to seek collaborative solutions, and to have fun working together.

Walter earned her bachelor’s degree (Human Resources & International Business) from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York, before completing her MA in Teaching from Binghamton University.

In her leisure time, she enjoys soccer, hiking, biking, reading and traveling.  Walter and her husband, Gunter, reside in Centennial with their daughter, Caroline (10), and son, Matthew (9).
