Timely Warning Lowry Campus Reported Assault

Update: The reported assault case that occurred on August 9th 2017 at 2:48 AM on the Lowry Campus has been concluded. Information provided to Lowry Security by Denver Police has stated; that the victim was not assaulted and their injuries were part of a motor vehicle crash they were involved in off campus. There is no active threat to campus or the area.

Lowry Security is posting this updated Timely Notification in accordance with the CLERY ACT which requires all Higher Education Institutions to post notifications on such incidents.


At about 2:48 AM on August 9th 2017, Lowry Campus Security contacted an inured male walking through campus. The male stated that he was assaulted during a carjacking off campus. Aurora Police and Aurora Fire were contacted and he was transported to an area hospital for his injuries.

The incident is still ongoing and under investigation, Lowry Campus Security is working with both Aurora Police and Denver Police Departments. Aurora Police has since transferred the investigation over to Denver Police. If you have information about this incident, please call Denver Police at 720-913-2000.
