Colorado Community College Common Courses
Colorado Community College Common Courses website –
cccns.cccs.cccoes.edu/home.asp
This curriculum website includes courses taught by the community colleges in Colorado and will soon include courses taught by the 5 area technical schools. Courses with common content carry the same prefix, number, title, credits, description, competencies and outline. These commonly described courses facilitate transfer and articulation arrangements for Colorado's secondary and community college students and ensure curriculum quality across the colleges.
Introduction for Students
The
Colorado Community College Common Courses include all courses taught both at the community college level and at the area Technical schools. Each course listing includes credit hours, a description, expected competencies and a course outline along with a listing of all schools offering that course.
Once you have found the courses you are interested in, it’s always a good idea to check back with your advisor to be sure it fits in with your educational plan.
Introduction for Faculty and Advisors
We have provided you with all the information you will need to enter new courses into the database. This is the place to find procedures and course guide templates as well as information on AACRAO guidelines and Bloom’s Taxonomy. We have also included a matrix for awarding credit for prior learning.
For those
faculty and staff who need it, the Proposed and the Archived Database can be found
here. Both of these are password protected. If you don’t have the password, it is available from the CCCS Office of Academic and Student Services.
There is also a link here to the ongoing crosswalk. From the time of original entry into the database, many courses have changed number, changed prefix or perhaps been deleted as duplicative. This is where we are recording all of the changes to the courses represented in the database. Please bear in mind that this is a work in progress, and while we have made every effort to be complete some courses may not be represented. If you have any questions about a course that you feel should be in the crosswalk, please contact
Sherrill Albert in the CCCS Office of Academic and Student Services.
