Colorado Community College System Foundation
...in support of Colorado Community Colleges
Welcome to the Colorado Community College System [CCCS] Foundation homepage. The CCCS Foundation was established in 1987 to serve as a public nonprofit corporation, 501 c (3) of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Code. It originally served to support the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE) in securing funding not typically available to state agencies for vital capital development projects. The CCCS Foundation was instrumental in the acquisition of land and buildings at the Lowry Campus. In addition, the CCCS Foundation purchased and renovated two buildings at the Pikes Peak Community College and purchased a classroom building for the Arapahoe Community College. Those initial investments have been invaluable to the economic growth of the community.
Since 1987 the CCCS Foundation has evolved and is now in the process of rejuvenating its members and working collaboratively with business, industry, community college presidents and foundation directors, and the SBCCOE to meet the needs of students and faculty. The CCCS Foundation is also developing strategies to meet the workforce needs of the 21st century.
In October, 2007 the CCCS Foundation Board revisited the prior mission statement and revised it to more accurately reflect our current and future role. The mission of the CCCS Foundation is… to support the mission of the Colorado Community College System by creating partnerships, developing resources, and advocating for the value of a community college education.
The goals include:
- Provide financial support to the community colleges students through effective fundraising
- Build and sustain relationships with the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE), Community College Presidents, and the Community College Foundation Directors
- Serve as advocates and raise awareness of life long learning opportunities for all Coloradoans at any Colorado Community College
- Advance the mission, vision, goals, and objectives of the Colorado Community College System
- Seek financial support from state, regional, and national funders to implement state of the art programs
