The Colorado Community College System (CCCS) Foundation was established in 1987 to serve as a public nonprofit organization. It originally served to support the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE) in securing funding not typically available to state agencies for vital capital development projects. The CCCS Foundation was instrumental in the acquisition of land and buildings at the Lowry Campus, Pikes Peak Community College and Arapahoe Community College. Those initial investments have been invaluable to the economic growth of the community.
Since 1987, the CCCS Foundation has made great strides in its mission to support the Colorado Community College System. The CCCS Foundation is working collaboratively with business, industry, community college presidents, and foundation directors, and the SBCCOE to meet the needs of students and faculty. The CCCS Foundation is also developing strategies to meet the workforce needs of the 21st century.
The mission of the CCCS Foundation is… to support the mission of the Colorado Community College System by creating partnerships, developing resources, and advocating for the value of a community college education.
