CC to CU Denver Admission Promise

One program, two degrees

The University of Colorado Denver student body includes many students who began their undergraduate studies in Colorado’s Community College System.

The University of Colorado Denver and the Colorado Community College System recently launched an exciting and progressive new effort we call the CC to CU Denver Admission Promise. This program will initially be limited to students enrolled at Arapahoe Community College, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College and Red Rocks Community College. It may expand to other CCCS colleges in Fall 2012.

The CC to CU Denver Admission Promise is a program for students from the Colorado Community College System to easily and seamlessly transfer to CU Denver to earn a bachelor’s degree. Students who meet the requirements of the program automatically are admitted to CU Denver. Through this program, these students will receive academic advising support to make this transition when they are attending community college and after they transfer to CU Denver.

This program is targeted to first-time freshmen in their first semester at one of the five metro-Denver community colleges participating in the program. A first-time freshman is defined as having no college credit enrollments after graduation from high school or after earning a GED. To participate, there are no ACT/SAT test or high school grade-point average requirements. Once the student is admitted to the Transfer Promise program, their continued participation depends on meeting its requirements.

It is important to note, students who don’t sign up for the program during the application process or who previously attended college still can transfer to CU Denver. The University participates in the statewide guaranteed transfer program and has joint agreements with the other public colleges and universities in the state to assist with student transfer.

This program has been carefully crafted with incentives and support to help students succeed.
